While I LOVE both of my kids' names and am happy that we aren't likely to encounter TOO many kids with the same names as they grow up, I just read an article about how to change your kids' names and why people choose to do so.

Interestingly, the article says five percent of people surveyed wanted to change their kids' names citing reasons such as: name had become too popular, frequent mispronunciation, family rifts, and the chosen name not fitting the personality of the child. It also went on to talk about HOW to change your kids name (in case you're interested).

How many of YOU wish you'd chosen a different name for your children? If you could do it over again, what name(s) would you pick?

Hey you! Good to see you!

I love my kids' names. They are both family names and are special to us that way. Well, Olivia's is kind of a family name. It's a variation of Olive, which is the original family name.

Zoe wasn't my favorite name, but I love how Paige was involved in choosing the name.  I will never tell Zoe that it wasn't my favorite but rather focus on how Paige was involved in it.

I love my son's name, but I really wanted to name him something less common.  One year later my ex and his wife named their son Isaac also. Ugh.

I really like my daughter's name, Aimee, but I really wanted Indiana. I thought it would be so cool for a girl... but alas my husband vetoed it and we compromised on a name we bith love.

A bright idea can help light the way!

Love my son's name, it just fits him.  I, on the otherhand, changed my name when I was 12.  My stepdad adopted me and I took a different variation of my original name which was very common and love my name.  My parents told me we could choose any name we wanted and I think mine suits me.
